# Steel industry

Handling and storage of "cold" materials such as scrap metals, pipes, coils, slabs. Handling of "hot" goods such as molten steel in slag pots.

**Heavy industry** has always been a motor of the economy and the driving force behind industrialisation.

The **steel industry** manufactures preliminary products such as **hot wide strip, forged parts, metal sheets, rails, long products, wire** and **pipes**.

These are then processed into end products.

In the complete manufacturing process, distinction is made between "cold" materials such as **scrap, pipes, coils** or **ingots** and "hot" products such as **molten steel** in slag pots.
