No rest for the new Eco1000 from MBB

Self-propelled modular transporter in action to move huge steel elements.

The art of metal, that’s what summarizes the key business of Cometto customer Metallic Bridges of Belgium s.a., called MBB. The Belgian specialist has been creating special metal structures for three generations.

The huge components, bridge sections and carpentry in general need to be moved regularly within their factory to follow the different assembly steps.

And for this highly-advanced transport challenge, a new 4-axle Eco1000 self-propelled modular transporter is in use now. MBB has chosen for the new way of driving!

The Cometto vehicle has an integrated Power Pack Unit to create a longer loading platform, in this case a length of 11,600 mm.

In-plant moves of steel elements

The Eco1000 from MBB offers a payload capacity of 172 tons at a loading height of 1,500 mm, including a stroke of 700 mm.

And the first jobs were immediately waiting for the new vehicle. MBB is currently creating a structure with a total weight of 5,500 tons, a length of 208 meters and a height of 40 meters.

Within one of its first missions, the self-propelled modular transporter Eco1000 with electronic steering moved this 87 tons steel element from one assembly step to another.

Thank you for the confidence and we hope to see many others pictures in action soon.
