At the end of February, representatives from our Dutch customer Heerema visited Cometto in Italy.
"The reason for the visit was the final acceptance of their new 8-axle shipyard transporter for shipyard tasks," reports Cometto Sales Manager Joachim Kolb about the meeting. "And as you would expect, the vehicle passed this final hurdle without any further comments from the customer."
The transporter, with its impressive dimensions of 6 metres wide and 22 metres long and a payload of 496 tons, will be moving offshore components at the Heerema plant in Nieuwdorp in the near future.
The pre-transport of the shipyard vehicle from the Cometto plant in Borgo San Dalmazzo to the port of Marghera was handled by our customer Fagioli. From here, the SYT then travelled by ship to the Netherlands.
