They use the transporter for their yard in Riva Trigoso (Geno) which is specialized in the manufacturing of military vessels for the Italian navy.
Having a payload capacity of 216 t, Cometto SYT 4/2 is designed for the loading of ship sections during the different steps of production and final assembly.
The SYT 4/2 by Fincantieri is equipped with four axle lines and eight suspensions in total. It has a loading platform of 14x6 meters with two operator cabins safely located under the platform.
Coupling possibility and higher payloads
The main features of Cometto SYT are the electronic steering, an hydraulic lifting system and the possibility to be coupled with more transporters. This allows to get a larger platform and a higher payload capacity, while maintaining the perfect synchronization of the convoy.
The partnership between Cometto and Fincantieri S.p.A. started already in 1985 when the trailer manufacturer delivered 16 vehicles from different product families (SYT, ETH, ETL).
